ABOUT

This is our story.

Andluca was established in 2017 following over 12 years of research on photovoltaic materials and films at the Organic and Polymer Electronics Laboratory at Princeton University. The company is headquartered in Rochester, NY where we conduct R&D and manufacturing activities. This office is complemented by embedded systems development and window integration in California.

Developed SafeFlight UV™, our bird-friendly interlayer product that is invisible to humans but deters birds from flying into glass

Unveiled the commercial version of Innovio™ Glass, our power-producing transparent glass for architectural glass applications

Innovio™ Glass passed key durability tests, including 20-year photostability, performed in conjunction with partners

Welcomed Jim O’Leary and Mike Farmer as executive advisors, catalyzing smart window commercialization

Expanded our product demo room in Oakland, CA to host customers and partners

Responded to customer interest by adding product waitlist capabilities via the Andluca Smart Windows webpage

Awarded an NSF Phase IIB grant for $500K, following onto previously awarded Phase II ($1M) and Phase I ($225K) grants

Nick Davy

Co-Founder, CEO/CTO

Nick stewards Andluca’s resources and aligns stakeholders to achieve the company’s mission and vision. He oversees strategic partnerships and the development of Andluca’s intellectual property portfolio to support long-term growth and commercialization.

Ivan Samalot

EVP & Chief Operating Officer

Ivan drives operational excellence and partner integration at Andluca, helping align technical innovation with scalable commercialization. He brings significant experience leading execution in advanced technology environments and accelerating growth through strategic collaboration.

Adrian Winoto

Chief Product Officer

Adrian oversees product development and operations at Andluca, guiding technologies from concept through commercialization. He has led development, scale-up, and launch efforts across seven technology companies spanning smart glass, advanced materials, and photovoltaics.

Doug Axtell

Chief Manufacturing Officer, Director of Research & Development

Doug oversees solar coating processes, metrology, and manufacturing scale-up at Andluca. He brings four decades of experience spanning R&D leadership, process development, optics, polymer science, and industrial manufacturing.

Thomas Schumann

Director of Systems Development

Thomas oversees embedded systems development and the design of integrated smart window solutions at Andluca. He brings more than 30 years of experience developing innovative technologies and advancing concepts through commercialization.

Shannon Urckfitz

Vice President of Accounting & Operations

Shannon oversees financial integrity, operational infrastructure, and company-wide management systems at Andluca. She brings more than 30 years of experience building scalable processes and supporting operational excellence across growing organizations.

Mark Pereira

Vice President of Marketing

Mark leads marketing strategy, communications, media development, and brand management at Andluca as the company accelerates commercialization. He focuses on making complex technologies clear and actionable while strengthening Andluca’s go-to-market capability.

Febin Kuriakose

Senior Research Chemist

Febin leads research and development efforts in advanced materials and organic chemistry at Andluca. He brings more than a decade of scientific experience translating innovative concepts into scalable technologies and commercial applications.

Ameen Saafir

Commercialization & Financial Strategy Advisor

Ameen leads commercialization strategy, business development, and financial planning at Andluca, helping align product innovation with scalable commercial growth. He brings extensive experience in deep-tech commercialization, strategic finance, investor relations, and guiding advanced technologies from development through market adoption.

Jim O'Leary

Senior Advisor

Jim advises Andluca on go-to-market strategy through the builder channel. He serves on the boards of two publicly traded construction materials companies and brings two decades of leadership experience across building materials and infrastructure.

Mike Farmer

Commercialization Advisor

Mike supports builder-focused commercialization at Andluca. He spent 18 years at Builders FirstSource, where he most recently led national operations across sales, manufacturing, and strategic growth.

Noah Reimers

Advisor, Residential Development

Noah advises Andluca on residential market strategy, builder engagement, and real estate development opportunities. He spent five years helping build Andluca as its third full-time employee and now leads Flourish Housing Ventures, where he is developing two ground-up residential projects totaling 35 units.

Max Perilstein

Industry & Communications Advisor

Max supports strategic growth and industry engagement at Andluca through deep expertise across the glass and glazing ecosystem. He brings more than 35 years of leadership experience spanning commercialization, marketing, and industry communications.

Mark Jacobson

Architectural Strategy Advisor

Mark advises Andluca on laminated glass applications and industry education. He brings more than 35 years of experience across architectural laminated glass and photovoltaics and is an active industry educator and CSI leader.
